Truce, 2020

This mural was commissioned in the summer of 2020 by the Bushwick Collective, in Brooklyn, NY.

I painted this mural the summer of 2020, when everything was in chaos. The pandemic, the protests, the ceaseless police sirens, and the fireworks. As with pretty much everything I made that summer, the theme in my head was reckoning. In my mind, this mural features two timeless “enemies” at a standstill, finding they have been marginalized onto the same side by the Anthropocene. This idea of course is subject to change, and should change, for whoever is looking at it.
