Escape Mouth, 2021
This mural was commissioned by the Bushwick Collective in Brooklyn NY, February 2021.
Ostensibly, this piece was to be part of a documentary on female street artists in NYC. They took a lot of footage of us painting, and even did some interviews, all of which was lost when the filmmaker seemingly disappeared and left her team without a job or a recommendation. Still, for my part, I was glad to have a piece surrounded by so many artists I respect so much, including Subway Doodle just next door.
It was so cold the weekend I painted it, I had to wear two pairs of chemical toe warmers in each of my shoes, and two pairs of wool socks, and my toes still got cold. The things we do for art, I tells ya.
